Spills and drips are everyday occurrences here and we are not talking about just water but also grape jelly and hot coffee and maple syrup. What’s more, objects such as silverware and heavy pans will occasionally smash against the surface. And since the kitchen is the heart of the home, it’ll also face lots of food traffic from the whole family.

1. Ceramic tiles:

Tile is impervious to the two major scourges of kitchen floors, water and foot traffic. Ceramic tiles are not as solid as porcelain but they can offer you more choices as it comes in different styles.

Pros and cons; ceramic tiles are easy to be cleaned off with no jagged spots. Its smooth surface helps to walk around easily. Besides benefits, it can get scratched easily by any little carelessness.

2. Porcelain tiles:

Porcelain titles are much harder than ceramic. It is well-known for its high durability and non-porous property.

Pros and cons; it is uneasy to break or crack. These tiles can resist satins and can be replaced individually. Besides these, it is hard enough and thus not good for living areas. If any fragile item falls against it, it can break easily.

3. Wooden flooring:

Nearly everyone prefers hardwood floorings for their living rooms and kitchen. After all, wood offers you a rich, warm look and provides a forgiving surface to stand while you are preparing food.

Pros and cons; it is another most durable stone material and can be replaced individually. But, it is the heaviest material among other tiles options and can be damaged by acidic substances.

5. Vinyl flooring:

It is smooth and water-resistant. It is made by mixing chlorine and ethylene. It offers you a wood-like texture and costs comparatively less.

Pros and cons; it is made in a variety of tones and lasts long for years. It can not be grazed easily. As it is a chemical compound, it can produce some gases that would be harmful to you.

6. Slate flooring:

Slate is a metamorphic rock used for flooring outdoors as well as indoors. It comes in different varieties from copper to red, navy to sage and tan to black.

Pros and cons; its colour doesn’t fade out easily and is impossible to scuff easily. Besides, it can be cracked if not handled properly.
